I began my studies in Tai Chi at the Open Door in Douglassville, Pa. with Betsy Chapman and Sara Gellhorn in 2002. Little did I know that I was about to join such a wonderful and highly skilled group of people. I was and am very fortunate to study with these instructors. Because of them, I was a 2005 US National Women's Forms Grand Champion. This national event was hosted by the Wushu Union in Las Vegas. I currently hold a Black Belt in Tai Chi awarded to me by Betsy Chapman and Sara Gellhorn and am a professional member of the National Qigong Association.
Coach Chapman is a certified national level judge and a student of Master Peter Warr, whose school is based in England. Master Warr, considered to be my "Taiji Grandfather," is a disciple of Chen Yu He. Chen Yu He's teachers included Yang Chen Fu, Sun Lu Tang, and General Zhang Zhi Jiang of the Nanjing Academy. Master Warr has continued to forward the art of Tai Chi and has held the position of Vice Chairman of the International Wushu Federation Technical Committee.
Coach Gellhorn is a highly skilled practitioner of both internal and external styles of Chinese martial arts and is a student of Master Nick Scrima. She has won numberous national championships in both Forms and Push Hands competitions and continues to broaden her skill set by studying Fu Family arts with Master Jose Johnson. Master Johnson, top student of Grandmaster Nick Gracenin, is also a former national and international champion. Grandmaster Gracenin is a student of Grandmaster Bow Sim Mark and was a member of the Executive Committee of the International Wushu Federation. Inside Kungfu named him one of the top “100 Influential Martial Artists of the Century,” and in 2005 voted him “Man of the Year”.
My introduction to vibro-acoustic acupressure and gemstone healing came with my introduction to Marie Elaina Perfect, the East Coast head teacher of Universal White Time Gem Stone and Mineral Healing, a certified massage therapist and holistic health practitioner. With Marie as my guide, I have been certified to practice Universal White Time Healing through level III and MEP Vibro-acoustic Acupressure. Instructor Perfect is a top student of Kitty Mrache, the North American head teacher of Universal White Time Healing, and of Randy Masters, a composer, mathematician, and respected researcher of the pyramids and other sacred places. Mr. Masters was also faculty in the music department of UC Santa Cruz and San Jose State University and continues to teach at the California Insitute of Psychoascoustics.
